This is the SUPERLIFT 2.5 Inch suspension lift kit for a list of the 1976-1981, and 1982-1986 Jeep CJ5, CJ7 & CJ8 4WD based on the civilian version of the Willys military Jeep of World War II (CJ is the abbreviation for Civilian Jeep). The Jeep CJ-7 featured a wheelbase 10 inches longer than that of the CJ-5 and lacked the CJ5s trademark rear curve of the door cutouts. The CJ7 also made a chassis change to help improve vehicle handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis stepped out to allow the springs and shock absorbers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body. The CJ-8 (Scrambler) is a long wheel-base version of the CJ-7 with a removable half-cab, creating a small pick-up style box instead of utilizing a separate pickup bed.
